I have quite a bit of experience doing gold exchanges Stainless Steel Bangles, not only in the US, but have had to go to places in Europe too. Living in Los Angeles, I have had to go to many places Sterling Silver Earrings, and it was a long time before I found somewhere like Loanex, where I felt comfortable and safe, plus maybe most importantly felt like i was getting the best value for my buck/commodity. Of course the nature of this kind of business results in most business having issues with customer relations, and then ripping you off on top of that. And especially in LA, which is as cut throat as it gets.Loanex firstly is in a safe location: Beverly Hills. That starts it all off. Then I was served by Victor, who was efficient, knowledgable and friendly. Finally, I was provided with great rates. In conclusion, this place deserved the five stars from my experience, and should I need to use an exchange again, I certainly shall go back.
Great customer service. Had to bring some Jewelry there and was recommended by a friend. They gave me a great price and helped me with everything. I will be back !
i did a transaction with Loanex, a few months ago. The first transaction went smoothly, I have since discovered the exchange rate for silver was considerably less than other companies Sterling Silver Necklaces, based on “spot” price. The 2nd transaction (same day) got a little wierd. They offered to have these huge silver platters weighed and give me a price. Within a 2-3 hour span, they called with an offer, For a moment it seemed okay. Within 5 minutes I changed my mind. When I arrive at the store they say the “trays” were sold.It was funny, because I never authorized them to sell the trays, the arrangement was they would have them weighed, I was expecting the trays to be at the store. I was told they were sold. Huh? Long story short, the original price they quote was now increased by $700.00, as the trays were now “sold- downtown.” ?Was it a good deal? Not the best. Would I go back? No. My advise, check around and have your merchandise weighed infront of you. Oh well, you live and learn.

History

Established in 1969

We are a second generation family owned business. Both Peter and Sylvia Generales are Toluca Lake natives with a long history. They love their communtiy as much as they love creating fascinating one of a kind pieces of jewelry. Although we have been at the same location all of these years, we have remodeled several times and constantly are on the outlook for new gem materials and cutting techniques.

Meet the Business Owner: Peter G.

Hi, I have had a love of rocks and gem materials from the age of 5 years old. Interestingly enough, the very doors that my parents used to take me through at a very young age , is now the jewelry store that I co- own with my wife. Talk about karma ! I can clearly remember my earliest experiences coming in to the jewelry store and having fun conversations with the “old jeweler” back in the 60′s. He was so kind to me as a child. I’ll never forget how he used to give me old broken watches and tell me to go home and fix them. I was so excited. I really try to pass on this experience when I see a child come in with a parent and encourage them if they have the slightest interest. I have a degree in Anthropolgy / Archeology rhinestone jewelry, Biology Sterling Silver Pendants, and both my wife and I are GIA Gemologists. We both have a passion for what we do and we always try to deliver the best. Are latest endeavors are to find new ways to manufacture jewelry that are eco-friendly to our planet and people.

I love Generales & Generales. ?I got my engagement ring there two years ago and LOVE it! ?Peter is GREAT and the entire staff is so friendly. ?I also bought a watch for my fiance at G&G and he loves it!
I stopped here recently and found a gem. The staff is so helpful and they have a beautiful selection. Also, if they don’t have exactly what you’re looking for, they will go out of their way to accommodate. They really care about their customers! Everyone should come here, you won’t be disappointed.
If it’s a watch repair I need, I’ll definitely not be going back here. The crown popped off my watch so I brought it in. They had me leave it with them for a couple hours while they took it in back to see what was wrong with it. When I got it back, there were three other pieces removed from it and I was told it was gonna cost $300+ to fix it. ?The problems may have been legit but having it brought into a back room for a few hours and receiving it back with extra parts broken makes me feel duped. ?My fault. I should have requested to be present while they looked it over. Lesson learned
So, I needed my watch to get a little refresh and figured I’d give this place a try. It was easy as cake, walked in, dropped my watch off, came back and got a brand new watch! Er… I mean almost brand new, at least it LOOKED new!
I purchased a watch not too long ago from here and I really love the place. Excellent customer service and the owners and workers are very friendly. ?They would go extra miles for my needs. ? I would give 6 stars if I could. Overall, just a great shopping experience. ?I would definitely shop here again.
BEST OVERALL JEWELER IN TOLUCA LAKE, any and all watch repair!i tell all my friends to go see the watch DR and he will take care of you if your watch needs servicing or a new battery. ?Great selection of fashion jewelry moderately priced (great for gifts) all they way up to anything you can imagine they can make by hand for YOU! SO much cooler than a chain store handcrafted treasures and It’s family owned. I like to support the family owned business nowadays in this crazy everything corporate world.Peter is the man! Anything extra special they can make happen for you. Some of His designs are truly one of kind works of eternal art!
If you own a Rolex watch you MUST bring it here for a general service. ?After 12 years my Rolex Sea Dweller stopped working. ? The entire 12 years my watch ran a bit fast, which others had told me was “normal for a Rolex.” ?After the technician replaced the spring it keeps PERFECTLY ACCURATE time and they cleaned and polished it to a gleaming SHOWCASE condition. ?(All of the nicks and surface scratches were polished out and it still gleams!)If you own a quality time piece, you owe it to yourself to have it working and looking its best and as far as I’m concerned, this is the only jeweler in town to do the job. ?Generales & Generales = quality work, great prices and friendly service.
I needed a miracle worker and I found one in Peter Generales. ?My platinum wedding ring was crushed by a car when it slipped off my finger and rolled into traffic, and Peter was able to reshape it back into a circle and clean up the dings and scratches. ?On top of that, it slipped off because it was too large (I’ve lost weight since the wedding), and I’d been told by the manufacturer that resizing it wasn’t possible because of the intricate engraving, but Peter successfully resized it, and even hand-engraved the seam to make the pattern match. ?And all of that for a very reasonable price. ?Considering the ring’s condition when I brought it in, Peter did a truly amazing job. ?I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Superb service! Original designs, helpful, equisite work! I have been a consistent customer for years, and even had Peter custom design a new setting for my wedding ring. This ring is the most stunning creation! Gets noticed! Peter worked with me to create a ring that combined several ideas I had with a design they had in the store. I have had EXCELLENT service, bring all my jewelry to him for repair, maintenance Stainless Steel Earrings, etc. TRUSTWORTHY, affordable, and kind. They are truly knowledgeable and honest. I have referred MANY friends to Generales. Exceptional people.
I had a nightmare experience having a ring made downtown LA. When I got it made we loved how it looked but it fell apart after 3 months. I took it to Peter at G&G in Toluca Lake and told him our story. We explained that we wanted the ring remade but we wanted the exact same look. 3 weeks later we got it back and could not be happier. Just a beautiful ring that he assured us will last for generations. We will go nowhere else for any of our jewelry needs. Very honest and calming people there.

Purchased a diamond from Paul Kolo Company and couldn’t have asked for a better deal along with quality. They are an expert in this field (diamonds) and knew exactly what would be perfect for me along with giving their own advice. They even suggested a diamond that was at a lesser price and explained the pros and cons. They did everything to fit my budget and had my product turn-around within a short amount of time. Will definitely do business again in the future. One happy customer,Andrew
My husband bought our wedding bands Stainless Steel Rings, my engagement ring and my earrings from Paul Kolo and I am extremely happy with the quality of the jewelry Sterling Silver Jewelry! I think it’s time to go back for a necklace! ;)
I wish that I could give Paul Kolo Co. 10 stars. ?My whole experience buying the ring for my fianc was not only surprisingly easy Stainless Steel Bangles, but working with them became a friendly and educational experience. I knew that my money and decision were both in expert hands, and I now feel like I have a go-to jeweler for the rest of my life. More importantly, she loves the ring more than I ever anticipated…and so does everyone who sees it. ? Amazing service.

Without a doubt, one of the best jewelry stores I have ever been to in my life. I recently was having a lot of trouble finding a London Blue Topaz necklace for my girlfriend’s Christmas present and was just not finding anything that I wanted. FInally, I asked a friend of mine who has done a lot of work with Sarah Leonard and he recommended I give them a try. So I gave them a call and told them what I was looking for and talked to Brittany. Brittany was one of the most helpful and kind person I have ever dealt with. I know a bit about jewelry so it was not as hard as it could be. Brittany sent me pictures of all the necklaces that had London Blue Topaz. As you know, you can not get a good indication of what a pendent really looks like from pictures but Brittany was kind enough to hop on a call with me and narrow down which of the pendents I was looking for. After the call, I went over there and Dean, the owner, spent about an hour with me going over the pros and cons of each pendent. I decided on a pendent that they had that was not in the color I wanted but wanted the size and shape of it. So Dean is going to customize it for me and have it delivered to me in a week. Also, the pendent that I wanted usually comes with a sterling silver chain, Dean was able to switch it out with a white gold chain. Now besides the exceptional customer service, the prices were really exceptional as well. Sarah Leonard was having a 20% special off of blue pendents, so that was very helpful. But Dean also showed me his entire collection of chains and the prices and he was not pushy when I decided. He was also very happy with my decision, regardless of the price. I love giving my money to small businesses, especially jewelry stores, but because of the exceptional customer service, and fair prices, I will giving all of my money to Sarah Leonard from here on out and I strongly suggest you do the same.
Five stars for these jewelers. ?I love the friendly staff and service they give. ?The jewelery is expensive but beautiful. ?I enjoy shopping here for my jewelery because I get patient, personalized service. ?The staff has been there for many years and I like that they know me. ?I take a lot of time to pick out what I want and they never loose their patience with me.
Sheesh, I forgot to write an update to my last review when I got my (then) girlfriend an opal pendant. Two months ago I came back and got an engagement ring. Like before, I got a good deal and the service at this family-owned business is simply the best there is. I can’t say enough positive things, but as a guy who knows nothing about jewelry, it’s great to have a place that educates you, doesn’t try to upsell you and that you can truly trust. Thanks again Gail and SLJ.
Shopping for wedding jewelry can be a heinous experience. I had done research on what I thought I wanted. Sweetheart and I opted for Sarah Leonard Fine Jewelers because the store was a short distance from our residence at the time. He wanted to get a feel for things and have a look around, take ideas home, feel it out. While in the store, I saw a ring I liked. We had a very helpful saleswoman who took a lot of time with us, explained the difference on metals, carat weight, depth of the stone, different cuts, etc. She was terrific. At no time did I feel patronized. We arranged for our wedding bands and left. However, once home, we did some soul-searching and realized what we ordered really didn’t reflect our personalities. After all, this is a piece of jewelry you’ll wear the rest of your life (or marriage, depending on which ends first). We went back to the store and explained the situation. In the end, we walked out having chosen stones and materials better suited to who we are, not who the bridal industry feels we should be.I love this store because it is an independent, family-owned and operated business. The quality of service rendered goes a long way with me. I’ll return for future purchases, definitely.
I dropped in during my lunch break with my nice watch to have a battery change- it was done in less than 5 minutes! David, one of the guys there, was entertaining throughout and delivered excellent customer service. There’s even a UCLA/Bruin discount!I most certainly be brining my rings back here for re-setting/sizing etc. They inspired great confidence in me!
This jeweler came highly recommended on Yelp, so my fiancee and I decided to try them for our custom engagement/wedding rings. This was a huge mistake. We started with them in February and had them look for a natural pearl. It seemed like they ignored our initial request as they showed us several cultured pearls after a few weeks. We should have walked away then. A couple of months later they showed us a small selection of natural pearls that did not meet our specifications at all. We decided at that point to find the pearl on our own, and we were fortunate enough to select a natural pearl from Tom Stern in Berkeley, CA. However, we had to get the pearl certified on our own. The entire pearl selection process took a few months when we were hoping Sarah Leonard could help us with it.This entire time we were working with the ‘craftsman’ to create a natural look for the setting we liked. The initial attempts were not indicative of any design talent, so I took it upon myself to draw up the designs from our inspiration ring; Another aspect of the process we expected Sarah Leonard to help with as indicated by their experience with custom designs. We submitted our drawing to them and had them draw up the CAD. They did not follow our notes and changed several shapes of the design. We asked if the wax would reflect these. We did not get a direct answer obviously as the craftsman went straight to wax without us approving the CAD. We once again had to point out all of the mistakes they had made on both the CAD and now the wax. We referred to my original drawings sent months earlier and the sales representative we worked with stated she had not seen the drawings before. She obviously had.Unfortunately, the craftsman then went directly to casting in platinum. Needless to say the ring was not to our design. I arranged to meet with the person we were working with whole time to point out the issues. I planned to go in on a Friday and was already in West LA, but at the last minute they decided to inform me they would be closing early that night for a holiday that weekend. That information would have been valuable earlier, or perhaps they could have stayed open to their regular business hours to help a customer they had been working with for so long (this was in October). We finally met with Dean, who was very nice to work with, and spoke directly to the craftsman to point out the changes he needed to make. Dean even commented that his English is not the best, but they use him because he does the best work.We picked up the ring two weeks later and took it directly to an appraiser. We asked for a detailed break down of the charges, but our representative assured us we were getting a really good price on the ring. Sarah Leonard offered to appraise it for us via email Body jewelry, the day the appraiser was going to be in, no less, but their appraiser’s credentials were not evident on the website. The appraiser we went with, while also being much cheaper, noticed the quality was not up to par and informed us that we over paid. We also later noticed that the craftsman had incorrectly reverted part of the design he had gotten correct in a previous iteration. We stated our discontent to Sarah Leonard and the president of the company was gracious enough to offer all of our money back. We had felt lied to. They told us the price was competitive, which was obviously a lie, and they touted their craftsman as ‘the best’ which likewise turned out to be not so. We had other options from them as well, but we were so disgusted by working with them we decided to return the setting and receive our money back. ?This was at the end of October when we had started the process in February. Our wedding was in one month, and they left us in an obvious lurch. ?We were lucky enough to find a highly recommended designer to correct their mistakes and improve the quality. I look forward to leaving her a glowing review. Unfortunately, we will have to pay a $50 reappraisal fee for the setting we had made the other designer, but as she charged us less than Sarah Leonard, we can consider this a lesson learned. Also, the stress and cost of multiple trips to Sarah Leonard can never be repaid, but once again, lesson learned the hard way.The communication via email with our representative, who I will not name to be professional, was quite difficult as she seemed to not read emails well and did not reply with professional email etiquette. We were obviously lied to, seemingly ignored, and treated in a manner which implied they did not care about our business. I am sure they will never have our business. I hope others read this review and steer clear when having custom jewelry designs created. They did the right thing and refunded our money, but the experience is not something to be expected from a 4.5 Star jeweler on yelp.
I don’t often write reviews, but in this case, I made exception. ?Deb helped me throughout the process & I seriously could not have been happier! ?This place is affordable. ?Yes. ?This place has a wonderful selection. ?Yes. ?Unlike most other jewelers, they do not pressure or push you. ?They are straight up, direct & HONEST with a no pressure approach. ?I picked up my ring today because I’ll be proposing shortly after XMas. ?(I hope my gf doesn’t see this). As a whole, the place is awesome. ?I’m not family, but I feel like it. ?Thank you! ?-NS
I love these guys. They made a beautiful wedding band to match my engagement ring and it looked just like the Tacori one I was considering and even cheaper! The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. They are always happy to clean and spruce up your rings too. The next time I have a jewelry purchase to make, it will be here.
Even a dog without pockets can afford things here at this family owned and operated jewelry store.Their pretty window display always gets my attention when I walk by. Whether I need a battery for my watch or my ring fixed, they are there for me. ? No one looks at me like I am a poor. ?They treat me professionally and with kindness, even if it is to tell me that the stone I want to have set is a fake made of glass (they set it for me anyway and it looks fabulous!)I trusted them with my only real piece of jewelry. ?It was a broken, very thin white gold ring. They sized it, filled it in with more gold and it looks better than the day I received it without compromising its original design.I wholeheartedly recommend this place, and I hate using the word “wholeheartedly”!
I went here to do what most girls always dream of….that’s right engagement ring shopping!!!Now now, Matt J. (my boyfriend) I know it wasn’t with you or for you, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to help out a friend in need! No, I did not elope with some boy, but I did go and help a good friend Hermann of mine pick out a ring for his girlfriend of 14 years!!!!!!!!!! It was such a fun outing and most of that was due to the great customer service we received here.Hermann didn’t know much about rings but they were extremely nice here and I helped explain everything to him….he showed me one ring, but the diamond was not that clear and I said, “Hermann, your future with Erika is CLEAR!! not cloudy!! you have to get a clear diamond!!” And that is when the lady who was helping us asked me if I needed a job to work in their store!! So funny fashion jewelry! But hey, maybe I do have a friend in the diamond business!! (oh wait, this isn’t shane…heh jk!)For the price range we wanted they had a small selection of rings, but we were able to find a winner (overall, not that many engagement rings in stock though…but then again I guess it is in Westwood which is a college town, so maybe that’s why?). He wasn’t ready to buy it that day, but she was so nice she took pictures of his top three choices (even though I already knew which one he was going to get!) and wrote the prices with each one to take home with him to think things over. So thoughtful. A week or so later, he decided to go back and get our top choice!!! He proposed this past week, and SHE LOVED THE RING and was so ecstatic and surprised!! So thanks Sarah Leonard, for helping my friend Hermann find a ring that was perfect to reflect their 14 years already together and their many more to come!
This place is great! ?Amazing quality & service for a reasonable price. ?I bought my diamond and setting through a friend in Israel in the business but when I received everything I didnt know where I could set the stone. ?I read the reviews on yelp and chose this place and I’m so glad I did!Although I got everything beforehand and just needed the stone set they treated me as a valued client. ?Through the process I worked with 3 different people and every one was extremely nice and pleasant. ?Since I got such great service and quality work done here (knew my stone was being set by people who care and were skilled) I plan on making my next jewelry purchase here. Not many family owned businesses now adays and its a shame. ?Come check out this place!
This jewelry store is one of the best. They have a great selection of pieces that are affordable on a college student’s budget – even more so since they give UCLA students a 10% discount – as well as really elegant, expensive pieces. As far as customer service goes, they can’t be beaten. My dad wanted to get me a piece of jewelry with my birthstone for my 21st birthday. The only slight problem was that my birthstone is peridot, which usually comes set in yellow gold and in styles suitable for little kids or old ladies. I was beginning to dispair slightly but stopped in to Sarah Leonard one day since I was passing. Dean showed me various options for white gold settings in both necklaces and earrings and helped me pick a piece that I love. So much so that I went back and got the matching earrings :) It was custom ordered and arrived in only a couple weeks.I’ve also been to Sarah Leonard to fix a silver ring that has absolutely no material value – they completely understood that it did have sentimental value, and it’s now completely fixed without even a mark where it had broken. They always donate to UCLA fundraisers and are very community-oriented on top of their awesome selection and service. In short, I’m a huge fan. Just saw that they’re having a sale in July, and luckily I’m going back to LA to visit – Sarah Leonard here I come!
It started out good. I called them on the phone like 4 times very annoying like because I kept forgetting to ask them questions. The girl on the phone was very nice. We brought in Leslie’s engagement ring to have it re sized. They were very friendly and all was good. We get the ring in a week.We get a call a week later and it’s ready so I go pick it up. Pay for it, not too expensive and it looks even better. I bring back to Leslie. She is not happy with it, there is a curve in the ring, so we agree to take it back and see if they can’t fix it.We go into the ?store and Mark the repair man talks to us. This made me a little mad, he assumed we had re sized because I didn’t get the right size from the beginning, but in fact had, it was just a weird size and heavy on top, but it was more the way he said it and also never really apologizing about us thinking it was perfect. So we left it there and left not too happy.Next day we get a call this is the best we can do, barely an apology and no discounts for future purchases it was as if we messed up, is the vibe I got. The vice-president also talked to Leslie and the first thing he asks is what website you got it from, “oh from some random site?” All condescending like, oh well. But probably won’t be going back.
This company feels like family! ?Upon our entrance they ?treated us like royalty offering chocolate and champagne while we shopped. Dean knew we were just there to browse to get an idea of what I’d like in an engagement ring, for a future purchase. Dean really listened and his service was A+.I would highly recommend this jewelery store to anyone. I will definitely come back and shop here in the future!
Talk about the NICEST people EVER!The prongs on my engagement ring had come loose and I called around before trusting Sarah Leonard to do the repair. Dean was totally honest about their service and assured me that they are a 4th generation family owned and operated. He was candid and funny on the phone and put my worries to ease.I dropped by with my ring in tow, he was there to greet me along with his other associates. I was relieved to see that his work station was behind a glass so I could watch him make the adjustments. My mother had instilled me a fear that shady jewelers will switch out the rock. Dean adjusted my setting at no charge, cleaned up that bad boy, AND gave me a free cleaning solution for future home cleanings. I didn’t buy anything and yet the service was numero uno. We checked out some wedding bands, he admitted they weren’t the cheapest in town but that they take pride in their custom creations. Ladies and gents, in the market for some bling? COME HERE! The service is awesome and they have a wide selection for fine pieces.
I spent 3 months shopping for an engagement ring. I worked with David and John during that time. I originally bought a diamond online at http://uniondiamond.com and when it came I was disappointed. I came to realize that you can’t really tell if you’ll like the diamond until you see it. You simply can’t buy a diamond off a grading report. You have to see it and determine if it makes your heart rate increase. I went into Sarah Leonard over a dozen times over those 3 months. Each time David or one of the other salespeople helped me and were wonderful to talk with. David educated me about diamonds and settings. I feel the main reasons to shop at Sarah Leonard are honesty, fairness, and service. With respect to each of these they are perfection. You will get a beautiful diamond for a fair price and benefit from the service that only a master can provide. Sarah Leonard is where I will purchase my jewelry in the future. I highly recommend them.
AMAZING! Dean and David were so amazing. I had a silver card holder I needed cleaning. I called out of a google search and spoke with Dean. He treated me like one of the family and went above and beyond what any other store would have done for a small cleaning fee of a card holder. I went in, and from there purchased a gold bracelet with the guarantee that if my other half didn’t like it they would take it back for a refund. I felt so comfortable with this store, that I left a vintage diamond ring that I have had for over 25 years for them to put stones in, clean and repair and I can’t wait to see it. The gold bracelet didn’t work out, but they have me as a customer for life. I trust them. I felt comfortable and they took phenomenal care of me. I would HIGHLY recommend this store to anyone who is seeking jewelry of any kind. They aim to please.
My Wife’s wedding bands had lost 4 diamonds, only 2 recovered, and I took them in to get replace/fixed. Everyone I talked to at the store was really nice and helpful. The repair was more expensive than I though it would be, but when is jewelery cheap?! They did the repair quickly and did a great job!About 2 weeks after the repair was done, a diamond fell out of one of the bands so I took the ring back. They fixed it and replace the lost diamond for free. In total, I’ve been in the store 4 times and it has always been a very pleasant experience!
My fiance purchased my engagement ring here about a year ago. ?I’ve been comparing quality and price ever since because I was considering to go back to purchase other jewelry items. ?In my year of research, by visiting other jewelers and hours of research online, my opinion is that they are overpriced for what you get. ?This conclusion is specific to their new jewelry items. ?They also sell estate jewelry which may be a great bargain, but I did not look into those so I don’t know.Dean was the person who help us. ?He’s a great sales person, and was extremely helpful when we initally went in to shop for engagement rings. ?He was patient and was very thorough in explaining all our options. ?He even offered us a 10% discount. ?My fiance wasn’t the shop around type of guy and Dean was so helpful, he purchased my engagement ring there. So I’ve gone back to this jeweler about 4 times now, and apparently, they’ve forgotten that my engagement ring was purchased there. ?And every time, they’ve offered me the same 10% discount, but for different reasons. ?So I believe they’ll offer anyone 10% right off the bat, which means they are overpriced by 10% to start with. ?In addition to that, my research and price comparisons bring me to believe that my engagement ring was overpriced by about 15%, after taking off the 10% discount they gave us, so I’m not at all thrilled by that. The two out of the four times I went back to this jeweler, a blonde lady helped us. ?Maybe it was just my luck that she had a bad day, but she was rude and condescending to me. ?If you do shop at this place, I do recommend you ask for Dean. ?He is just so much more pleasant to work with. ?Since I don’t like the feeling of paying so much more for something I could have gotten for less, I’m sure most others don’t want to either. So right now, I’m shopping for a diamond wedding band. ?I went to Sarah Leonard and they quoted me about $5K for a designer wedding band. ?The band they showed me was about two sizes too large for me, and ?I asked whether the price would change if I purchased a smaller band since the ring they were showing me was quite large, and they said no, the cost is $5K no matter what size. ?Since it was a designer band, I was able to shop around. ?Another jeweler (whom I’ve also done quite a bit of research on) quoted me about $3K for the exact same ring in my size. ?They did adjust their price for a smaller sized ring.It is true, like others have commented here, they do clean your ring every time you go in and ask. ?That’s a great service. ?And from what I know wholesale jewelry, they are a reputable jeweler. ?So that is what you get. ?But as for the price, I’m not sure you’d get a good deal here.
I went in to Sarah Leonard not too long ago to ask about re-sizing my engagement ring. The woman who helped me was all right; polite but not very friendly. So she quoted me $90 for re-sizing and re-plating with rhodium. And she said it would take a week. I said I’d think about it. And during my search for other places, I found Oscar’s jewelry in downtown LA who did it for literally half the price Sarah Leonard quoted, and did the work on-site while I waited (it took half an hour), and they were extremely warm and friendly. $45 for while-you-wait, friendly service, versus $90 for a weeklong wait and only minimal service? I’d give Sarah Leonard a miss.
I had nothing but an extremely pleasant experience from start to finish engagement ring shopping at Sarah Leonard. ?I already had my center diamond, passed down from my mother, so we were looking for just the right setting to show off her diamond and make it my own. ?Dean was incredibly helpful in educating my fiance’ and I on every little aspect of ring shopping. ?He spent two hours with us on our first visit, and couldn’t have been nicer. ?We ended up customizing a Tacori ring that turned out amazing. ?My mom’s diamond never looked so good! ?I am completely happy with their service and product and will definitely return should I find myself in the market for some bling in the future.
I went here to have a few links removed from the bracelet of a new watch. ?I obviously wasn’t going to be a big customer, ?but I was still treated very well by the friendly staff. ?It was $10 to adjust my watch, and they did it in five minutes, as I waited. ?If I were ever in the position ?to buy jewelry, I’d definitely go back here.
My fiance and I bought his wedding band here and we were perfectly happy with our experience. He wanted something like titanium or tungsten carbide, and it was hard to find retailers that carried those metals. Sarah Leonard had those, plus lots of platinum, gold, and palladium, which is what he ultimately chose. The price we paid seemed fair. Service was definitely good, albeit sometimes a little more than we needed, e.g., excessive small talk and compliments, phone calls, etc. I don’t think I would shop here for women’s jewelry. The quality of their rings seemed…thin. The metal was thin and they relied on tricks like engraving the metal or using pave diamonds to make jewelry look flashier when it really didn’t have much core value.
This store is awesome! ?My dog was friends with a dog owned by one of the employees at this store and I stopped in to look for something for my wife. ? My friend wasn’t there but I was well taken care of. ?This store is family owned and run, ?They are very proud of the fact that they have been in business for 60 years. ?The Grandparents still stop in and wait on customers. ?You won’t find a staff that is more helpful or knows the product lines better. ? This store has shown up on some Reality Shows, Gene Simmons bought Jewelry here for his wife. ?Also, the store is right next to Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash, ?in case you wanted to get that Mooby Tshirt
This place is amazing. ?They have a great selection, and the quality is amazing. ?However, the prices are very high. ?Definately worth checking out if your looking for some inspiration. ?We ended up buying else where, because of how expensive it was.
This place knows what they are talking about. The staff (especially Dean) is helpful and completely knowledgeable about engagement rings. There is also a fabulous selection. Because they are family-owned, I think the they take pride in not being one of those sleazy mall jewelers.
Sarah Leonard in Westwood is a great place to find the right jewelry ?for every occasion. I have been shopping there since I was 12 years old, I know that sounds weird, but my parents introuduced me to this place when I needed to get gifts for my friends B’nai Mitzvah’s and ultimately, they were incredibly helpful at assisting me in purchasing an engagement and wedding ring for my wife. The GIA certified gemologists at Sarah Leonard were incredibly helpful in explaining to me what I was looking at in diamonds and ultimately assisting me in selecting a ring that my wife loves. This family owned business is a gem, pun intended!
Did a free ring check today for me, very helpful. I don’t know much about jewelers, but this one was great.
Its where I bought my wife’s engagement ring, and the sales clerk Dean spent a good hour with us, making sure we had it all just right. Now my friends and family all go here too. You just feel good every time you go in this place. 3rd generation jewelers…have a real honest family touch. The store has been around fifty or sixty years. Nice to know his grandmother was something like the first female president of the American Gemological Society…if I’ve got the story right…These folks know their stuff!
The fiancee and I needed to go to a jeweler to buy wedding bands, so we came here on the recommendation of her mother. How happy I am that we did! We were immediately greeted by Dean, who is the grandson of the founders of this “mom and pop” jewelery store. That’s right, this place is old-school and family owned. Dean was extremely helpful, friendly, and not pushy at all. He showed us a nice variety of rings while explaining the subtle differences between them. Top-notch, “menschy” service. Not sure how they compare, price-wise to other jewelers, but they offer flexible payment plans. After I told Dean my last name he realized we knew each other years ago from Hebrew School. A game of “Jewish geography” then ensued. Even without that connection, Dean still treated us like kings and made us feel very special. We are now definitely part of the Sarah Leonard family and look forward to giving them business in years to come. (Actually we have no choice since we need to pick up the rings in a couple weeks.) An added bonus is gift bag with the holiday chocolate!
I’m a guy…I hate buying Jewelry. I know very little about it other than the women in my life seem to love shiny objects that look good on their body. For years, I trekked across Los Angeles from store to store. I’ve been to them all…so believe me when I say that Sarah Leonard is BY FAR AND AWAY the best. I first walked through their doors to buy a tiny, diamond pendant for a girlfriend. I don’t remember her name, but I certainly remember the experience of buying from Sarah Leonard. The next time it was for an Amber necklace for my mother. Then a year later, it was Christmas earrings for the new girl in my life. Each time, the salesman walked me through the process, guilding my cluessless self the entire time. He’d lay out multiple options, carefully explaining to me the nuances of each piece. But what I appreciated most was that I NEVER felt pressure to buy. I’d say thanks for the time, tell him I was going to think it over, and then leave. When I came back a week later, he’d pull out the same 3 choices we’d narrowed it down to. Again, never pressure to buy — just picking right back up where we left off. It’s no surprise that, years later, when I decided to ask my girlfriend to become my wife, I went to Sarah Leonard for the ring. Again, I walked through the doors and asked to speak to Dean. He asked me what I was shopping for and I nervously pointed my head to the case on the left. He just smiled and said, “Okay, let’s get started.” The service at Sarah Leonard has always been phenomenal. After she said yes, my wife and I bought our wedding bands there. Six months later, when I lost my band, they guided me through the insurance process. When my wife needs a quick cleaning for a night out, they’re more than happy to do it. Even simply changing a watch battery, the after-sale care is above and beyond what I’d ever expect. Like I said, I was a guy who HATED buying jewelry. Turns out I just needed to find the right place to shop.

Came here with my bro to pick up a gift for our mom.He knew exactly what charm she liked, so there was no browsing around trying to decide until we were looking at the silver chain options the sales associate showed us. ?My brother is only 19 and this gift was being paid by cash straight from his wallet. ?She knew that and I appreciated that she showed him different options Stainless Steel Necklaces, but did not try to up-sell him on the more expensive chains. ?Although I felt the jewelry in that store was pretty pricey for what it is, not really original ?or unique, I held my tongue and let my brother enjoy his shopping experience fashion jewelry, after all, it was an expensive purchase for my mom and he was proud of himself and so was I. ?Not the fanciest styles of jewelry nor pieces that will last you a lifetime, but it’s good quality silver. ?They’ll clean the jewelry for free any time and there’s a 6 month (I think) warranty if it were to break or if the pieces with glass were to chip or crack.
I purchased my first Pandora bracelet from this location this past weekend and love it! I received excellent suggestions and help from Esmeralda. She really took her time with me and assured I was happy with my final charm choices.
This is a fairly new little boutique at the Glendale Galleria. I have seen a lot of elderly women stop in here to purchase gifts for their daughters, sometimes their grand children. It somehow reminds me of Brighton, in a way. It’s as though this would be their style of jewelry. Anyways, the employees here always seem kind of down. I can understand that though, as they hardly have any customers. I have taken a look in here a few times and not been greeted, not been acknowledged at all, straight up ignored. It’s not fun. I think a lot of customers who come in to this store dont really know if they’d purchase things here because they wouldn’t know how to wear them or with what outfits to wear certain pieces. I think it would be great for the employees to wear outfits that would compliment the pieces being sold here. It’s just an idea. Even more, this store would do a lil better if the sales girls were a lil more easy to approach. THey always have these mean looks on their faces, they just need to smile!! Pandora has been around for a while, as a company, for at least 25 years now. . . I think that the workers need to do a better job of being approachable. That would really help!!
